Independent Advocate
As an independent advocate, I work with clients on current needs and wishes.
That means starting where you actually are, today, with whatever is in front of you, not a program you have to fit into. We sort out what matters most, and then I do the legwork alongside you.
What Clients Bring Me
Every situation is different. These are the ones that come up most often, if yours isn't here, ask anyway.
Medical appointments
Coming with you, taking notes, asking the questions that are hard to ask in the moment, and making sure you leave understanding what was said.
Paperwork and the mail pile
Bills, forms, medical records, and the stack that has been growing on the table. We sort what matters, handle it, and file the rest.
Staying in your home
Safety changes, home modifications, and arranging the help that makes staying put realistic for longer.
Looking at other housing
Touring, comparing, and reading the fine print on assisted living or care communities, with someone who has no stake in which one you choose.
Hiring and managing help
Finding in-home caregivers, vetting agencies, setting expectations, and stepping in when something is not working.
Documenting your wishes
Getting your medical wishes, your preferences, and your instructions written down clearly, so no one has to guess on your behalf.
Family conversations
A steady, neutral person in the room when a family needs to make a decision together and the conversation keeps going sideways.
Finding the right professional
Elder law attorneys, financial planners, geriatric care specialists, tax help. I know who to call, and I help you prepare for the meeting.
Everyday logistics
Transportation, technology that has stopped cooperating, pets, errands, and the practical things that quietly pile up.
Thinking it through
Sometimes the need is simply an unhurried hour with someone who will lay out the options honestly and help you weigh them.
Rate
You only pay for the time we actually use. Rates are confirmed in writing before any work begins, and if your needs change mid-project, I will talk it through with you before anything changes.
I am not an attorney, a doctor, or a financial advisor, and I do not make decisions for you. My work is to help you understand your options, hold onto your own wishes through the process, and connect you with the right professional when one is needed.
